Sad story about the lilacs behind the Work BC building: last summer, during landscaping renovations, all but 1 of the Bill Vander Zalm lilacs were ripped out and taken to the dump. They had, after a few years, grown into lovely dwarf bushes – as seen in the photo – but the bed where they were take out of remains dirt… Just one of the several stories of lilacs put in then ripped out, around town.
