Freshet update: “We got lucky with the weather!” For the first time in what feels like a long time, we got lucky with the weather! The Nicola Basin appears to have received far less rain during Saturday’s storm than what was forecasted. Provincial weather station data indicates that Merritt and Helmer Lake areas (which feeds Mill Creek) received 20-30mm of rain, but the Nicola Basin looks to have only received 5-15mm.
