Pick-up truck starts 7 fires along Hwy 8. On Sunday, July 18, at 8:58pm, the Merritt RCMP, along with the Merritt Fire Dept, Lower Nicola Fire Dept & BC Wildfire Service attended 7 fires along Hwy 8, between Johnny’s on the Rez & Juniper Dr. They are believed to have been sparked by a vehicle travelling through the area, an older model F150, rusted with pieces hanging off it.
