City of Merritt officials are working with the Ministry of Forests, Lands and Natural Resources regarding the new course of the Coldwater River.

The new course following the floods is much closer to the City’s wastewater treatment infrastructure, which is causing problems with its operation. Although no plans yet exist, the City and the Ministry are beginning the process of investigating whether or not re-routing the river into its original course would be possible.
