New Mayor, Council & School Board. While voting ended at 8pm Saturday, it wasn’t until 4:14am on Sunday morning that the Herald & Q101 posted the winners of the election for City Council… the winner for Mayor had been announced just before midnight… and School trustee about an hour later. 

Merritt was probably the last municipality to hear who won, with a roll-back of services & modern voting methods when it was decided they would dispense with the electronic voting machine — and count the votes by hand. Reminds me of the ‘old days’…
