Sun sets on smoke from Murray Lake wildfire

Maka-Murray wildfire The fire is believed to be caused by a lightning strike on July 14, a rappel crew, airtankers and helicopters had initially responded to it. But last evening, due to aggressive fire behaviour at the Maka-Murray wildfire, west of Murray Lake in the Juliet Creek area, 5km west of the Coquihalla Hwy, ground crews were withdrawn from the fire as a safety precaution.
