Our drought indicator was moved up to Level 4, just one week after hitting Level 3. This is the first season the marker has been moved from ‘Normal’ since the sign was installed in 2011. Merritt’s was the first drought sign to be erected in the province.
Level 4 drought rating & angling suspension. With the continuing dry conditions, the BC govt has announced a Level 4 drought rating for the Nicola Region. At Level 4, conditions are ‘extremely dry’.
